02.00 Welcome to Support and Movement

Module 02 โ€” Support and Movement ยท 2026-09-09

The big idea Bones, joints, and muscles support the body and work together to create movement. This module moves from visible motion to the tissues and cell processes that make it possible.

Use one chain for the whole module

The module is easier to organize when each lesson answers the next link in a movement chain.

Start with the movement you can see

Every change in body position depends on structures working as a system. Bones provide support and levers, joints permit particular motions, and contracting muscles pull on bones. The next lessons examine those relationships at the body, tissue, and cell scales.

Follow the module path

02.01 maps motion, bones, muscles, joints, and vital signs. 02.02 examines bone tissue, growth, repair, fractures, and conditions. 02.04 compares muscle tissues and components. 02.05 follows the sliding-filament contraction cycle. 02.08 is the Support and Movement Exam.
